BLQ - Bologna Airport
Bologna Airport, named after physicist and inventor Guglielmo Marconi, is one of the largest airports in Italy in terms of number of passengers and destinations, and is constantly growing thanks in part to its strategic location in the area.
New ways for passengers to interact
Bologna Airport's ambition in 2016, the year of our first contact, was to revamp its mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms, which had remained unchanged since their very first release in 2012.
Our challenge was to design and implement the new applications focusing on a User Centered approach, involving end users and stakeholders.
We have introduced new features such as:
- The monitoring of waiting times at inspections
- The social sharing feature of flight status
- The integration of notifications from Bluetooth beacons.
- Integrations with analytics to track the most used features and continuously improve usability
Looking to the future
In addition to doing routine maintenance andevolving applications to stay abreast of new technologies, since 2020 we have been working on a new project to extend and integrate advanced features such as Wayfinding.
